Saudi Arabia Announces Shorter Work Visas for Foreigners

Work Visas for foreigners in Saudi Arabia will be reduced to one year from its current two-year validity period in the future. Saudi Arabia’ Ministry of Labour announced that only foreigners in the private sector would be affected by the reduction of work visa validity, so domestic workers and foreigners working for government agencies can still be granted two-year work visas.

This decision comes before the expected increase to the work permit fee for foreign workers which is expected to take effect next year.
